RJAY of LDP "CATCH YOU" Official Music Video
Directed by Dominic Nuesa
Summer in the Philippines - with the heat of the weather slowing down and rain pouring all week, hiphop continues to push through its limit. Its a very crazy summer for hiphop in Pinas. We have the Mastaplann x Bambu Homecoming event, the first ever BPM beat making workshop and more importantly 3 recent events that allows us to show how much of a community we've become. First, the WAVE Urban Music Awards where we would like to congratulate Yumi & Thyro for bagging Best Original Song - although I must say, what wasn't original about everyone? Big wins for my boys in Flipmusic, dominating the nominee list and Q-York taking home Best Urban Group honor!
Second, the recently concluded Vito Crew x Peoples listening party to benefit the farmers of Hacienda Luicita. Amazing feat and amazing benefitiary! Hiphop never loses its grounds in the Philippines! Third, I want to give a big shoutout to people who put together the Jambase event in Mandaluyong. In the spirit of The Community weekly summer show - they are buzzing, and been helping out build a new set of artists to be displayed and showcased. Great breeding ground there, I know the event came to an end last March 28, but those weekly events that lasts for a month serve as boot camp and networking nest for new leaders! Kudos to the teams behind it!
With that said, I'm giving you Wave 89.1's recently awarded Best New Artist - Rjay Ty of LDP's newest music video "Catch You" which features Kookoo Ramos and Cort Catajay as the leads. Directed by Turbulence Productions' Dominic Nuesa, the video shows a woman suffering from extreme psoriasis - a disease than can be aggravated to make your joints hurt. This was deliberately picked to create awareness of this illness and what a great story the video tells!
Did you know? Kookoo Ramos was the same girl showcased in LDP's Here To Own it video, she is one of Manila's best graf writer and painters! She actually did the painting in the video herself! Rjay Ty is wearing a great blazer jacket from Twelfth House available at Secret Service in Ronac, cop that shit! Rjay Ty has also been in 3 other music videos by Dominic Nuesa - Back To Love, Here To Own It and Beyond Beyond.
Have a great weekend guys!

YO RADIO, OPM HIPHOP ONLINE is live!!!
Yo Radio logo designed by Thyro, Yo Radio via www.pinoytuner.com
FOREWORD by Patricia Malay of Yo Radio
YO!
I couldn’t think of a better way to start this “Editor’s Note” than with that word. Wikipedia says it started in Italian-American communities in Philadelphia but was soon adopted by inner-city youths and popularized along with rap music. I think the better explanation is that “YO” just rolls off the tongue so well. It’s so easy to say, so smooth to hear, it’s difficult not to start or end a sentence with it. YO is a greeting—friendly, warm. YO can also call attention to something you really need to see and, in this case, hear as well.
YORADIO.PH is an online portal for the hip-hop community in the country. We’ve been hard at work putting it together for the past few months and we’re very proud you get to finally taste and see it for yourself today. From music, to news, gigs and events, contests and promos, we’ve got your urban life covered so you know what’s what and hopefully before anyone else does. We’re preparing special shows to give focus to all the many communities within this vast hip-hop family. We’re aiming not just to keep it real. We’re aiming for proper. We want to elevate the talent you all know is out there and the talent you have yet to see. We want the world to know that we’re here, producing the smoothest sounds and the sickest beats, and encouraging all the rappers and MCs to elevate and prepare for the global arena. We want you to tune in. We want you to tune up.
We’re throwing our doors wide open for you. If you have songs no one’s heard yet, gigs we should go to and cover, groups we need to talk to, let us know: email us at content@pinoytuner.com. And if you just want to drop me a line, let me know what you think of what we’ve done or send over dope suggestions, drop me a line at patricia@yoradio.ph.
In the meantime, check out the site. Tune in, tune up.

BEATS PER MINUTE: 1 full-day beat making workshop
We've been stalling making this day happen. But through careful work and a great curriculum for the day, we are now set on making this day happen. The class will be a whole day workshop, with meals provided. We are also having the workshop on a deal on Ensogo starting tomorrow. Be on the look out for that so you can avail of the limited seats we are providing. We are limiting the headcount to attain maximum learning from each participant.
Each participant gets a workshop kit which includes files and other surprise contents from the producers themselves. The days schedule will include discussions on sampling, Acid Pro, Reason, Nuendo, tools of the trade, trade secrets and how to market yourself as a producer.
Make your move, lets improve beat making in the Philippines!

USHER "CLIMAX" Official Music Video
Track produced by Diplo
Been an Usher fan since You Make Me Wanna - actually bought 2 cassette tapes of the same album. I've been in love with this song since it came out and upon seeing this, I think this is a great video. Low budget, good concept -- and actually good acting by Usher. Amazing talent here, and he only gets better. Its crazy how throughout some shots I would figure him dancing with choreography and we don't get to see his foot work - must be crazy to watch. But all in all, this shit is pretty amazing, specially the shots in the car. Check the 1:19 mark, where his thoughts drifts into reminiscing something special and lets go of a thin smirk -- that was the killer. Enjoy the video, I surely did.

Shoutouts to Steve Harvey for writing the book!
The beat is banging, I wished they got Lil Wayne or J.Cole on it instead!
