Almost a year ago, I made this beat for the Bacolod City Bandit who then, was our newly signed artist, Aero. I remember finding the sample, chatting with him and PHD while listening to the sample, and telling both of them that I got the beat perfect for the release. Sent the file through and Aero did his thing with it at The Chop Shop. This was my un-retirement beat, wanting to bless Aero with good material to break the news of signing with the team. Made this beat in the heat Slaughterhouse's debut release and Jay-z's D.O.A. track getting major airplay and just the sample dictated how grimmey and hard this song was gonna be. A couple thousand downloads later -- I had Nimbus rock a verse to it and my number one dude from T.Dot, Jae Spillz. There is a version with God's Will on it, while I will unleash some other time. Just bridging the gap here as we celebrate early the first year anniversary of SickSongsOnly EP this coming August 3.

Being this is one of my favorite beats I made of all time - I am having the instrumental available for download. Milby agreed to help market and produce the album of new R & B artist Quest (real name: Jose Villanueva III). Quest and Milby both attend Victory Christian Fellowship, which is where they became friends. Quest, the former music director of Victory, never sang professionally but was always being encouraged by friends who thought he had it in him to pursue a recording career.

So in 2008, Quest resigned his position to pursue a musical career. The following year, he started recording with Jumbo de Belen of Flip Music. Quest spent his savings to record the album, but after that he didn’t know how to get it out there or what to do next—and that’s when Milby came into the picture.

NOTES: This August is looking really crazy. Quest just released his album, locked down sponsorship for Gold Gyms and well we're looking at closing Adidas this week as well. An album launching is getting scheduled as we speak, more news to come. But more importantly is that you can already cop his album and will be available nationwide via MCA Universal next week. Aero's debut release SickSongsOnly EP is celebrating its first year in circulation this August 3. And in celebration to this milestone we are debuting a video of a song from the same release. Nimbusnine will be performing at WALL LORDS 2010 this coming August. Do your research on what WALL LORDS is, but more importantly - Soulfiesta is teaming up with graf artist KASE for a digital gallery release called TAKING BAKKK THE CITY. Lets face it, its either you're an activist of an in-activist. During my recent trip to Pinas - Chano had introduced me to this documentary and I must admit it is intriguing enough to put it on here. I mean, come on - lets put this 130,000 hits to good use every once in awhile. And although, with technology and what we can do with it these days often results to entertainment and the curious information behind close doors, let the entertainment factor die down behind the grip of what you can do as informed citizens of the world of such catastrophe happening.

Go on, watch it. I double dare you.

Taken from Amazon: The Cove begins in Taiji, Japan, where former dolphin trainer Ric O’Barry has come to set things right after a long search for redemption. In the 1960s, it was O’Barry who captured and trained the 5 dolphins who played the title character in the international television sensation “Flipper.”

But his close relationship with those dolphins – the very dolphins who sparked a global fascination with trained sea mammals that continues to this day – led O’Barry to a radical change of heart. One fateful day, a heartbroken Barry came to realize that these deeply sensitive, highly intelligent and self-aware creatures so beautifully adapted to life in the open ocean must never be subjected to human captivity again. This mission has brought him to Taiji, a town that appears to be devoted to the wonders and mysteries of the sleek, playful dolphins and whales that swim off their coast.

But in a remote, glistening cove, surrounded by barbed wire and “Keep Out” signs, lies a dark reality. It is here, under cover of night, that the fishermen of Taiji, driven by a multi-billion dollar dolphin entertainment industry and an underhanded market for mercury-tainted dolphin meat, engage in an unseen hunt. The nature of what they do is so chilling — and the consequences are so dangerous to human health — they will go to great lengths to halt anyone from seeing it.

Undeterred, O’Barry joins forces with filmmaker Louis Psihoyos and the Oceanic Preservation Society to get to the truth of what’s really going on in the cove and why it matters to everyone in the world. With the local Chief of Police hot on their trail and strong-arm fishermen keeping tabs on them, they will recruit an “Ocean’s Eleven”-style team of underwater sound and camera experts, special effects artists, marine explorers, adrenaline junkies and world-class free divers who will carry out an undercover operation to photograph the off-limits cove, while playing a cloak-and-dagger game with those who would have them jailed. The result is a provocative mix of investigative journalism, eco-adventure and arresting imagery that adds up to an urgent plea for hope.

The Cove is directed by Louie Psihoyos and produced by Paula DuPre Pesman and Fisher Stevens. The film is written by Mark Monroe. The executive producer is Jim Clark and the co-producer is Olivia Ahnemann.

11 years in the making ain't no joke. Momentum is a traitor sometimes, most especially when you don't capitalize. Do not do your talent wrong, give it justice. Therefore, patience and perseverance is equivalent to vision and success. This album that you are about to have in your hands has been done give and take - four times. I saw this extra ordinary talent so raw not knowing he will turn out to be a visionary of sorts.

Today, as Turbulence artists are scattered in different places across the metro, provinces and well me - overseas, we are a fool to let the day pass without celebrating. Quest's BACK TO LOVE video, version 2.0 will be shot this coming sunday directed by the same director of the first video, Dominic Nuesa. Why shoot another video? Buy the album and see that its a different version - and well this is where the dynamics of what we have has changed. Quest is with Cornerstone, an artist management company, who have chose to be behind this singer/songwriter at all times. So when we say we are doing another go at this song for the first video - we win; when they help us tell the people at Universal that we prefer this single as the first to be launched despite them favoring our chosen 2nd single - we win.

The journey begins, we have out classed some of the best acts in our playground with this move and a couple of more, you'll see. And whoever has been part of this since day one, and the ones who have been part of it up until yesterday - this ones for you. Majority of the album was produced by Bojam, ensuring his legacy in the game. Turbulence isn't built on exclusivity, it is built on passion and sharing. So when it comes time to share the limelight we are one with everyone. As I told you, we have done this album four times - and when a label such as mine decides to back up a talent regardless of his views in life, we are providing growth which as this point in time is yours for scrutinizing. Hehehehe. This is an offering of what we have not yet shown you - I'm glad this ones already out, we could now start working on the next album. Kudos to everyone!

Sam Milby aligns himself with one of the best singer/songwriter around

A popular singer - who by the way appears on our HIPHOP POWER RANKINGS - once told us that Quest's songs might be too classy and too high for the masses to reach. There is a pinch of blunt truthfulness to that statement, but I guess we just never saw the point of dumbing it down for the sake of generating sales. And we always knew we were the right team to bring this across to the people having lived here all our lives. No one can tell what growth is in the Philippines but the people who have lived here all their lives dealing with all the misconceptions and correcting them themselves.

Album launch a month from now at Eastwood. How do I know?

Eleven years in the making, not the album but the opportunities that have been presented to this artist, the easy deals he had to decline to ensure his artistry is recognized to be prime, the nights spent conceptualizing, writing, trying out different melodies. A good friend of mine told me the other day - God is merely softening your heart and hardening your purpose. Very apt for today.

Word up, SG side iggins. Today is a good day. Quest's album is selling like hot pancakes at the EN Conference - ranking up better numbers than any of y'all would think. Pushing 27 years of my life into the next chapters is crazy. This video is a place of refuge I suppose. Turbulence heads, Marquiss this is how 2012 and Beyond looks like huh? Word up. Mastaplann's coming home, a Blazin' brother in the can, WE Legendary store 2nd year anniversary next week, SPECKS 10th year Anniversary on September, GRAE out this November. Keep on keepin' on, we all getting old my iggins. My back feels it.

Saturday, just hung around my household and dug some old music from the studio. Man, when I said my catalog is UNFUCCWITABLE, I myself get surprised with what I have. I mean even tracks that never made it to songs - I got to listen to a few of em, with a verse or two in it - I mean I have a Mike Swift track with a PHD verse and that beat is still banging, chu know about that neegi.

And yeah well through my diggin' I cam across this track I did with Kim Fabros back in 2005. This is a beat I made in 2004 - I remember making it, burning a CD with 2 other beats and handing it to Kim Fabros at a 7 Shots gig. At that time I wasn't even using sampling to make beats, had to bang everything out from these very hands. I'm a sucker for horns - thats why I love Bojam's work - I had an alto saxophone sound I was messing with for this beat. The weekend after giving it to Kim Fabros she was too kind to tell me that she liked 2 of the 3 beats I put in the CD.

The game is in a good position now - but I do believe we are missing out on a lot of diversity not having Kim Fabros lace us up. She has done work with 7 Shots, Madd World, DJ Arbi and tons more. But what people dont know is that she has been wanting to piece up together her debut solo album - I was asked early this year what my dream project would be and I answered two people, I said Kim Fabros' album and well the other, I have now forgotten.

Kim recorded this session as a guide to what the song can potentially be - but we never had a chance to re-record it nor her finish writing to it. But here, I'ma let you guys into this song - and just hear what the game's been missing out on. I mean come on yo, this joint is 5 years old!

Today we feature a track called "PUT YOU DOWN" where we see these Konektado all-stars bring their brand of hiphop to a Skarm produced beat! And I say, it's fiyaahh! I hear Sweezy and J-Hon just feeling at home with the very east coast sounding beat, the horns blessing the track makes it feel like its Boot Camp Click all over again! Sweezy shine bright with tagalog lines throughout his 16's. Loonie just laces this one up with ease - rapping in english and holding it down, making even his avid tagalog fans proud! The multi's are crazy! Talk Sic Ways member and producer Skarm rips the beat with his trademark flow - and a big fuck you for a chorus, you can never go wrong kid!

Skarm has also been busy putting in work for various projects around the metro. Talk Sic Ways (Anygma, Skarm, Protege, Liquid & Layman's Terms) album is almost done. Skarm has also been making tracks throughout the year and is said to be producing beats towards the last few Turbulence albums. Rumor has it as well that his yet to be titled sophomore album will be out by January of 2011. A Skarm x Plazma collaboration shirt will also be hitting the metro soon as it will be sold at the next FLIPTOP event! Busy second half of the year.

NOTES: Power Rankings will take a back seat, I've been really busy the past few weeks. Quest has just signed a ditribution deal with Universal. Quest Broadcasting has committed their stations into helping support his album. Turbulence is currently in talks with Kangol, WIP CAPS, Brat Pack, Salomon Shoes, STOKED, Folded & Hung and more for possibilities of helping each other throughout the year. And yeah, I just saw a GRAE video in the editing room and its looking mighty fly son. Beyond Beyond 1st Year Anniversary special soon, y'all gon be surprised!

Lebron choose Miami and joins Wade and Bosh for another shot at the title.

Too early to predict a championship for this upcoming season and I will not curse this move. But one thing I will say, this decision is a power move. Remember how Olajuwon was on a prime player with championships, how Ewing is as New York as the Statue of Liberty, how they traded Iverson, how they disbanded the best Sacarmento Kings team with Webber, Bibby, Christie, Divac, Stojakovic - Team Owners who made it sour for passionate players to think of ever playing again because their own backyards were lit up with gasoline by the very people they help raise money, become relevant basketball team owners - this ones for all the people who thought money will make a player commit.

Lebron bitch slaps corporate NBA telling y'all "This is a business, at the end of the day." Too many players got too comfortable, thinking management has got their best interest at hand and later on gets played. Here's a toast to the business of it all and how Lebron at a very young age - owns his decisions and his happiness. Props to him for doing justice to a very much awaited decision.
