I must say, if you still think local hiphop is about to blow up - I mean wow, you are a caveman and definitely a good 2 years behind. Hiphop is definitely breakingthrough right now. Sasabog and hip -- nah, its already has. Events like this, Konektado x Brgy Tibay year ender is what its really about. Giving people an event they can own and participate in and not be always a fan, outside looking in.

We put up 20K for MCs to have a wonderful Christmas - knowing that hiphop gives back. That at the end of the day, mainstream doesn't always pay - its relevance that really pays. We can redirect our attention to skills and having fun. Its amazing to see the likes of Kamikaze, Fliptop heads, Stick Figgas, Cosmic Love and others share the venue knowing that we've shared this stage several times. Rock didn't outshine hiphop this night and vice versa.

The Sunugan 2011 year ender Battle Royale Champion was Righteous One. Well deserved. If you don't know him - he's one of the most avid fans of this shit -- and last night the spotlight was on him. No one took the spotlight from him and he lived up to it - bagging the cash prize and new found respect from his co MCs. And neegi if you didn't know, he won this tournament on a wheel chair.

Reg Rubio, spearheading the donation drive for Sendong victims through Rock Ed - was a success. People from the Asiong Salonga movie was able to help raise 20K through this event. Hiphop definitely has heart - and this night displayed it best. From a wheel chair battling, and winning it all to putting our money where our mouths are - CDO, Iligan - we'll continue doing our part.
