One day it'll all make sense. CB Automatic has been making moves in the Philippines give and take, for a decade now. I've been a fan since his group Earshot was introduced by DJ Caine on Power 108's Barangay Fliphop segments. Earshot were featured guests that would frequent the show! They were doing it on that indie tip before Turbulence was even a label. A few years back, he managed to produce his debut album -- and in my side of town created a great buzz on how catchy the whole "CB - CB Automatic" jam was, but there's more to CB than that catchy hook, the album, the dance moves. There is that drive.
That drive to participate - you'd see him in various music videos, various parties thrown all over Manila, various mall shows - even right after working shifts, he would also bless AMP his vocals to perform "Keep Elevating" at a Music Museum show. That drive, to be secure in his spot - that he stood his ground when R&B wasn't really picking up. Before the Quest's, Thyro's, Gene Roca's -- CB was a legit R&B act with his head straight, his vision clear and his motives honest.
Runnin' is a great track. I won't call it what it's saying about the artist, but I will tell you that CB has more tracks to do! Produced by super producer Bojam, Runnin' is an ode to the special calling into music and a claim on a time well spent! Keep chasing the dream kids! Shoot for the moon, even if you don't get the moon -- you'll already be amongst stars. Nothing to prove bro! I see you!
