DAY 2 Nimbusnine - So Addictive

Photobucket

Nimbusnine - So Addictive (Produced by Chrizo)

"Aiyo Chrizo, they better lock you up in an asylum for this beat, god damnit!"

This phrase sums up The Journey, Logic for Reason, Thinking Mans Hiphop, Tippin' The Scales, Three Kings, GRAE, SickSongsOnly EP -- you get the picture. The common denominator Turbulence shares with Locked Down besides music is the Seneres family tree. So Addictive is one the tracks from our first ever release as a label, B-Sides (Turbulence X Space Monkey) Do your research.

This song made older cats look our way - as Nimbus tears up this Chrizo soundscape without skipping a beat, no pun intended. This was Nimbusnine's real introduction to his fans, off the strength of NY to PI and Homegirl wherein early on people percieved these tracks as sign of how too melodic Nimbus got down on those tracks -- this song proved people wrong. He goes in and the whole underground scene was his witness. And from this song on, Nimbus started climbing everyones list as Pinas' next best bet in hiphop.

I remember hearing this -- Chrizo wasn't integrated into Turbulence yet and I came and rolled by to check on my artist's session with him. I think Dom was actually the one who told me it sounded dope as he too was working on Pedestrian Lanes around the same time. To this very day I don't know why RJ didnt jack this beat earlier than Nimbus, cause its fire!

At the time this was out, nobody in the game could shift seamlessly from English to Tagalog -- and Gino didnt start it, but Nimbus took it and flourished with it. Come and tune in tomorrow as I stream and showcase a new Nimbusnine song produced by Flavamatikz!

NOTES: Picture taken from the BSIDES tarpaulin, designed by Ryan Andres. 2005-2006 saw the influx of rappers doing their own singing in the hooks, enter Kanye & 50 -- which undoubtedly influenced Nimbus making his classics. If you don't have a copy of Bsides yet you can get your copy from Our Father's Coffee shop located at the Ground Floor of Robinsons Galleria, Quezon City or call our Turbulence Hotline +639053448717.
